2 cups water, 2 tsp loose black tea (or 2 tea bags), 1 slice fresh ginger (optional), 2 tsp honey (or to taste), 2 tsp lemon juice (optional), 2 whole cloves (optional).
Boil water, add tea and optional spices. Simmer 2–4 minutes, off heat steep 2 minutes. Strain, stir in honey, add lemon if using, then serve hot.
